The Back and Joint Pain Reliever
This is the machine that replicates the pain-relieving effects of inversion therapy while lying flat on one's back. Padded ankle and arm supports hold the body in place on the cushioned bench, while an easy-to-reach lever allows users to extend the feet downward. The result is a reviving stretch that relieves pressure on the spine as well as decompresses the joints in the shoulders, hips, knees and ankles. Unlike inversion tables, this machine is easy to get into and out of, and it won't cause a rush of blood to the head.
Sturdy 14-gauge tubular steel frame. Assembly required.
72" L x 25" W x 11" H; (24 lbs.)
Verdict is not out but definitely doesn't feel like inversion therapy. Rating may rise but so far not feeling like I'm floating in the clouds.
I never write reviews! First one ever! I am compelled to "write" the wrong of the previous reviewer. (I am also going to right the wrong of the marketing geek who sorely missed the mark in divining the remarkable effectiveness and functionality of this superior product.) First off - this device IS NOT the lateral equivalent of an inversion system! It's purpose is not to make you feel as though you're floating. It's purpose is to exert negative-lateral pressure away from your disks and stretch the corresponding muscles. It performs that remarkably well! I would argue that it is equal or superior to the Chiropractor's Vax-D disk decompression therapy which I personally swear by. This device is better, easier, faster and more convenient and you can own it as opposed to the $3,000 dollars that the rehab folks will charge you for a month's therapy. if you have chronic lower back pain - YOU MUST TRY THIS PRODUCT! With their money back guarantee - you have nothing to lose but your back pain! This works! Here's what you do. Use as directed for 20-30 minutes a day - 5 days a week - for a month. At first you'll experience a bit of tenderness and discomfort. You'll confuse muscle pain for joint and nerve pain. Then one day you'll find yourself with a bit more pep in your step and a whole lot more agile as you start to bounce like you did as a kid. And if your as old as I am - you'll be surprised at how much better you feel and how that translates into an overall felling of well-being. Regrettably - you will be upset with yourself as you realize that it took you more than a few minutes to realize that your feeling better can be traced back to that goofy device you bought at Sky-Mall. So much for age and memory. This is a first rate implementation of great idea. It might even keep you from going under the knife.
Was looking forward to receiving the machine and was a little disappointed when it didn't fit under my arm well. It kept pulling my arms in and cutting my airway off. I have not used it since and hope an adjustment will help.
Work well and as adverised. Easy to put together and provides immediate relief.
I have been using an inversion table to relieve muscle spasms in my lower back due to a scoliosis. This was ordered as an alternative that takes much less space and can be used for longer sessions. It is sturdy in its construction and simply to use. A good investment!!
After a couple of days the winch stopped working, but one call and a replacement was sent with no questions asked. My wife and I both use it twice a day for two to five minutes and it helps with our back pain. It would be nice to know how far to stretch the back. We are quessing. Our Chiropractor said this is good way to hydrate our spine.
At last real relief for back problems at an affordable price and without dangerous back surgery. Have suffered for years with back pain from scoliosis and stenosis but the Back and Joint Pain Reliever has been the answer.
A few minutes whenever needed allows spinal decompression and immediate back and lower limb pain relief.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
works great just what I need for my back
I purchased this on the advice of my doctor as someone looking at a spinal fusion in her future due to Spondylolisthesis, pars defects and other issues with my lower back. Arrived very quickly and pretty easy to put together. Hated this thing. It could possibly be to that it happened to hit me exactly where my back is in such pain and the fact that I am physically unable to flatten my back. But I couldn't stand laying on it. Thankfully, it was easy to disassemble and ship back. HS also included a return UPS label otherwise it would have cost me a small fortune to return on my own.
After adjusting and re-adjusting all the settings, I could never get a comfortable position in which to get a good traction going...the pieces that go under your armpits pushed so hard once I started that I got a very bad shoulder ache after using it a couple of minutes.
Finally, something that works for spinal decompression.
This is not the perfect back stretching machine, but it really works well and is very reasonably priced. I agree with YimmyDgeek's review that a separate sliding butt pad would vastly improve this product.
Having short arms, I found the crank handle a little hard to reach and crank comfortably. The crank handle protrudes from the back machine approximately 3-4 inches and when laying on the machine is partially covered by my body mass. This will not be a problem for skinny folks or with people with normal arm reach. My temporary fix was clamping a pair of vise grips to the handle to extend the length.
Despite these minor problems this machine is the best thing ever for lower back pain, especially related to herniated disk pain. I found after decompression of my spine my posture improved, belly flattened and most importantly the pain relief was incredible.
I did find it a little hard at first getting up and down from the floor to use the machine. However, after several uses of the machine, it got easier and easier getting up and down. If getting up and down off the floor is a problem, I would suggest finding a sturdy bench of some sort to place the machine on.
As earlier stated, this is not the most perfect back stretching machine, but it does really work, is well built, lightweight, easy to store, and is very reasonably priced for what it does. That is why I rated this item five stars. You will not find anything better for spinal decompression and back pain relief. I am extremely happy with this product.
Was trying the back pain releiver since the inversion table I purchased is not conducive with my medical issues (glaucoma). Have been using for three weeks (once daily) and it seems to be helping my bulging discs slowly but surely.
It took a few tries to get it to work. Once I did it has been a great way to relieve the pressure from my back.
not what I expected. Poor quality. not something that can be used daily to relief tension as noted in literature.
I've been using 5-10 minutes 2-3 times weekly for three weeks. Upper and lower back pain and sciatic pain have subsided. One shortcoming is the ratchet handle is short and difficult to use. I added an extender that makes it easier to grasp. I don't recommend this product if you have difficulty getting down and up from the floor. Otherwise, it works great.
Having suffered from chronic low backpain due to degenerative discs and facet arthritis, I am extremely happy I gave the stretcher a try. Prior to my purchase of the stretch, I had to receive massages on a weekly basis in order to relax my back muscles. Needless to say, that get costly over time. On the first day I received the stretcher, I used it for 10 minutes and felt almost instant pain relieve. I now use the stretcher once or twice a day for 10 minutes each time and my back hasn't felt this good in a long time. The pain is still there but my back feels stable. I'm no longer afraid to make sudden moves or turns. The stretcher is easy to assemble and to use. I highly recommend it!
Suffering from Lower Back pain and not being able to afford "First Class", the next best thing when I get home is using the inline back strecth bench. It was very easy to assemble, use, and store.
Buy it Now! It has been worth every penny.
I was hopeful by the description - and it did live up to how it was described and what it was "supposed" to do. Very easy to put together to use and easy to use. I have used it four times now and I can definitely feel an ease in the tightness of my lower back. Would warn anyone that starts to use equipment like this to go easy until you know what your own body can tolerate or needs. If you use common sense - this piece of equipment will serve you well. Hey, I'm going to go use it again right now! See ya -
It's tough to self-crank the device when your arms are held up at the shoulders, and the pressure on the armpits is somewhat uncomfortable, borderline painful. Feet slip from the bottom so the back really doesn't get as much pull as it should. I've tried inversion tables and thought this would be more effective, but it isn't.
This device does the job. My back has poped in places it has never poped in before. I do agree with the comments about the device needing a separate area for the butt. Your butt needs to slide as the device extends in order for the decompression to work. I have been using two flexable cutting boards to place my butt on before I start, not the best option but it helps. I would also recommend that you raise your arms to release tension when you are done instead of releasing pressure with the lever. This will reduce the shock and jolt of a sudden release caused by using the lever. I plan on adding a "sled" to my unit by using one of those thicker white plastic butting boards with a nylon rope attached to the extension part. This should pull my butt down toward my feet as the unit extends and provide a much better spinal decompression. I would recommend using this device every other day to allow your body to heal and adjust.
This product is the best. When I received it I was having such sciatic nerve pain that I could hardly walk. I've been using it for a little less than two weeks and my pain is 95% gone. The only thing I would change is the height of the table, It is a little hard to get off of down on the floor. I wish it was on a stand 2 feet off the ground.
My husband has severe back pain daily, so trying anything and everything. !unfortunately this !did not relieve any of his pain.
Nice product, effective, our family happy
I saw this product in an airline catalogue while returning from vacation. !It was very affordable compared to other back stretching devices, and easy to assemble. !I am in my late 60's, and use it to provide some relief from mis-alignment of my lumbar (lower back) vertibrae. It causes no pain when I use it, about 2-3 minutes daily. !I have found noticeable inprovement in my mobility, and no bad side effects.
I bought this for a friend who suffers from joint pain, after just 5 minutes he started to feel relief. great product, easy to put together.
The stretch machine does as advertised. !Easily put together, easily managed and gradually pulls out the muscles. !I read a review that said to use it for 30 minutes per day. !It took several days to work up to 30 minutes, and I find 20 minutes does just as well, but it needs to be at least that long. !And for the first five minutes, I keep adding a little more stretch as the muscles allow. !Particularly good for lower back muscles.
I bought this item for my husband who suffers from back pain. !He is so happy with it that we order another one for our second home.
The device was easy to assemble and feels fairly solid. As with other reviews I have read, the release of the ratcheting mechanism can be a bit of a jolt to the body if you're really stretched out tight.
I've only used the machine for a week or so, but I think it's doing good things for my lower back. Also, I have found it helps to support the lower back during the stretch with a rolled up towel or small pillow.
I bought this a couple of weeks ago. My husband loves it. We have an inversion table and the only thing it is getting used for is a place to hang my shirts to dry. No longer does he have to have blood rush to his head and pain from the straps on his ankles. Thank you. I rate it at a 4.5. The platform that you lie on needs to be more comfortable and larger to accommodate people of a bigger size comfortably.
Bought it for my friend who has permanent lower spine injury, 2 squeezed lower discs.....he uses the device for 15 minutes, it pulls his weight off his injury, relieves the pressure & the pain for the whole day....he regains his mobility and energy.
I found this item well constructed and easy to assemble. It works like the ratchet on a car jack to push against your arm pits as it pulls your feet away from your body. I found it to work very efficiently although it has not helped my particular back problem. The amount of "stretch" is adjustable by the number of ratchets applied by the hand lever. I did find it hard to release the pressure because as the machine pushes into you arm pits it becomes very difficult to push the ratchet handle all the way down to release the ratchet and return your body to an unstretched position.
The product would not work the first day, returned it!
Is a good purchase. I had an inversion table but could not stand being upside down for long. With the back & joint pain reliever I can lay there as long as I want. Works for me. Love it. Would be neater if it had heat plus a roller that went up & down your back.
I have been using an inversion board to help stretch my back, but can only stay upside down comfortably for a moment or three. Using this replacement, I've been able to stretch my back for up to 15 minutes at a time, and to control the amount of stretch. Much better!
Tips for use: Keep your elbows tight against your sides, and push them toward your feet, while adjusting the amount of stretch. To STOP stretching, gently lift your arms instead of "popping" the release level (which relieves tension too abruptly).
Unfortunately, the pain reliever did not help me.
need thicker foot rubber hold for more comfort and higher knob control for more access
Works on a very simple basis with good results.
Easy to assemble - took me about 10 minutes. I've been using this daily for about 3 weeks and I'm already noticing a difference in my back pain. It's easy to use and doesn't take up a lot of room.
Item works great. I would definitely recommend this for anyone with back problems. Super fast shipping!
I have sciatica and 2 bulging discs #4 and #5 in my back.
I use this every other day or so since it came , and it has made a big difference.
I have less pain in my back and leg.
I bought my back and joint pain reliever about a month ago and Iam very happy I made this purchase, my nerve pain has decreased greatly since I started using it.
I bought this for a x mass present a month ago and just ok
I bought this and love it.
I lay on it facing down and have my son push down and message my lower back and the pain goes away after 7 years of back problems.
I suffer from lower back pain (muscles not spine or disc) and I get a lot of relief from this back stretcher. I get on it for about 3-5 minutes and relax, it really does stretch your lower back well.
I just received it the other day and was easy to assemble. I can't say how good it works yet because I haven't really tried it out but for a few minutes.
Unfortunately once I received the Back and Joint Pain reliever, I found it not as easy to use and to store as I had expected.
