The Only Rechargeable Long Range Wireless Stereo Speakers
These are the only pair of splash-proof, long-range wireless speakers that provide robust stereo quality sound without the need for alkaline batteries or a power outlet. Exclusively offered by Hammacher Schlemmer, the system's 2.4GHz radio transmitter sends interference-free audio from any music device to the speakers up to 250' away -- 8X the range of common Bluetooth systems.
Each 5-watt speaker has a 3-1/2"-diam woofer, 2-1/2" tweeter, bass reflex port, individual volume control, and left/right channel selection for providing clear highs, mids, and solid bass with true stereo quality. An iPhone, iPod, iPad, Android smartphone, or other MP3 player connects to the transmitter using the included 3.5mm audio cable -- its generously sized dock even accommodates devices in their protective cases. Transmitter can also plug into a component stereo system or into a TV using the included RCA cable.
Each speaker's rechargeable Li-polymer battery provides up to 10 hours of cordless power at medium volume from a three-hour charge using the included AC adapters. The speakers operate between 20-110 degrees F, and their IPX3 rating provides durable water- and weather-resistance. Built-in handles ensure ease of portability.
Each speaker: 12"H x 6-1/4"W x6-1/2"D; (3-1/4 lbs.); Transmitter 1"H x 3"W x5"D; (3 oz.)
Have a major problem with for one the volume is to low out in open area around swimming pool, volume is fine in enclosed patio area. My biggest disappointment is that the wireless band they are on disrupts the wireless network your connected to whether is ipad, television etc. Your device will attempt to pick up the wireless signal from the speaker transmitter and you loose the signal from your wireless network. The only way to resolve is to hard connect with wire to your internet source to be able to play Pandora etc. unfortunately signal is not strong enough if you have transmitter in the house and speakers outside? The connection is fine as long as you are not depending on wireless network as the source of music.
