Poor documentation, but it works Got this and was a little confused.The documentation was poorly written.There is a gray or silver switch at the hinge of the charger,1) It turns on the connection from the solar panel to the external battery that will eventually but not now power up your phone.2) Switching it the opposite direction turns off the solar charging function to the external battery and turns on the external battery to charge the iphone.In other words, you cannot charge your iphone the same time your receiving solar energy to your solar device.When I first got it, i thought it was broke because it was showing blue lines that indicate its charging the external battery of the solar device, but my iphone wasn't showing the plugged in icon. So I called the company, to let them know.When you do change the switch to charge the iphone. it works good and surprisingly - fast. Great on the golf course or in your car or when power goes out and cell phones towers are still running on generators.I dont know why Apple hasn't capitilized on solar chargers up until 2011. I can stick it in my window and let it charge to the sun, saves a little money on the electricity bill. Will buy again. September 3, 2011
worked only 2 days When I just recieved this charger, I made sure it works, and It was working great! so I was so happy. My husband took the charger to his business trip 2 days after we recieved, then suddenly it was not working anymore. we tried a lot but it just not charging. and the switches look very low quality. since it stop working, I had to return it and I got refund but i didnt get shipping fees back =( which is normal so I lost total $15 with this purchase. Not for iPhone 3GS Bought this to recharge my 3GS on a trip where we would not have electric power. Plugged in my phone which reported this is not a charging device and would not accept the power source.This might work with an iPod, but it did not work with my iPhone 3GS. June 21, 2010
