The Talking Heavens And Earth Educational Globe.
This is the talking, luminescent globe that engages young learners with activities about Earth's properties and the surrounding celestial sphere. Updated for 2011, learners access 30 activities about Earth's information--including geography, history, cultures and languages--by touching the globe or a detailed pullout map of the U.S. with a wireless "SmartPen" and listening to narration from a built-in speaker.
An internal LED illuminates the globe in darkened conditions to provide a view of the heavens projected onto the globe's surface; eight additional activities teach children about constellations, their mythological origins, and noteworthy stars. Up to four players can race against the clock to locate countries, capitals and cities.
The globe also allows geographers of all ages to compare world currencies or travel distances, and to play each country's national anthem.
Updates are easily downloaded from the Internet onto a PC running Windows 7, Vista, or XP and transferred to the globe using the included USB cable. Includes headphone jack.
Requires four AA batteries and two AAA batteries.
Ages 5 and up.
