My Adorable Mutt The mystery of figuring out what my adorable little mutt was finally solved thanks to Doggie DNA. I had an idea of what she could of been and I was amazed at what she ended up being. This is great so now I can understand her attitude a little better and I now know what ailments I can expect that are common with the specific breed. skeptical Bought this as a fun test for my mixed breed rescue. We have a slender,golden haired girl with a bushy tail and tulip ears about 40 pounds. Test came back Staffordshire terrier/ weimeraner, both short haired, much larger breeds. She bears no resemblance in body type, facial, or manner to either breed. I am very skeptical as to the validity of this test. February 28, 2013
Very Fun ! We have had a lot of fun with these test results. Our girl is 100+ pounds of pure love. The results showed her Mother's side is pure St. Bernard - back to her Great Grandparents. We already knew that to be true. We had no idea about the Father's side. So, when they showed the Daddy to be a Dachshund mix we were amazed ... to say the least. Granted, the mix included 2 small to medium and 2 medium to large breeds - still they only accounted for about 30% and the rest was pure Dachshund ! We used to think her Father was probably a Beagle and so we dubbed her a "St. Berneagle". Now of course we call refer to her a "St. Berdachshund". It was worth every penny !
