Using a technique that dates to the ancient Egyptians in the 14 century BC, a hammered layer of 24 karat gold-leaf is meticulously placed onto the face of this rare and stunning timepiece with a vintage case and an amazingly accurate Swiss made movement. Fits wrists 6-3/4 to 8-3/4.
Even most gold jewelry and gold coins are only gold alloy with a mixture of up to 40% base metal. But The Oro has a face that is covered in .999 pure gold. Even $20,000 luxury watches are made of only 75% gold. But Stauer loves real gold. The deep shimmering color is mesmerizing. We understand why every major civilization since the beginning of recorded history has valued this rare metal.
