Newer cars with continuous electronic components (such as radio station presets, computer brains and car alarms) need a small amount of current at all times. That's where the Fused Green Knob comes in. It has a fused bypass wire that allows low-amperage devices to continue operating when you remove the Green Knob. If a thief tries to start the car, the starter's extra current will simply blow the fuse. You can remove the fuse to prevent battery drain for long-term storage.
