San Antonio Scarf Purple
This brilliant Scarf is made from vibrant cotton and is woven on a footloom in the San Antonio region of Guatemala. San Antonio is known for its colorful traditional costume. Traditionally, men were the only ones to operate a footloom but these scarves are made by both men and women. The fringe is hand tied and the scarves are made with first quality thread.

About the Artisan
Maya Traditions works with more than 100 Maya women in five established groups in rural villages. Predominantly working with women who do backstrap weaving, an ancient traditional art which women can do at home while caring for their families. In addition, they work with a group of women crochet artisans, footloom weavers, and small family businesses.
