This is the heated vest that ranked highest in heating ability and comfort in side-by-side evaluations by the Hammacher Schlemmer Institute. Thanks to patented heat technology, this vest heated to 16.8 degree F above the ambient temperature on its highest setting. Three heating elements strategically placed in the chest and back are powered by a compact, 4-oz. battery pack, preferred by panelists for evenly distributing heat.
Lesser models were criticized for concentrating too much heat on specific areas or using bulky batteries that felt heavy and awkward. The lithium ion battery pack generates heat for 2-1/2 hours on its high setting and 8-1/2 hours on low. The battery pack has four power settings and recharges in three hours.
