Perfect for a 4 year old! We gave this to my 4 year old son for Christmas. He absolutely loves it. He played with it (scooping up toys in his room) for hours. He can't wait until the snow melts, so he can dig in the "real dirt". His 7 year old brother was enamored with it as well.The construction is sturdy and it was very easy to put together.
