This person is able to sleep comfortably in any Seat! Can you say the same?
The large, removable inflation valve makes inflation and deflation a snap.
SkyRest deflates and folds into an easy-to-pack size and shape.
Here's what the travel experts and press are saying about SkyRest: Dailycandy.com "The miraculous, wedge-shaped travel pillow makes even the most uncomfortable spots downright pleasant."
Dallas Morning News "But you can be...more comfortable with a SkyRest pillow...Simply lean forward and snooze, and the miles will fly by."
SkyRest has also been featured by USA Today, Peter Greenberg, and the Early Show on CBS.

I travel from Tampa to Tokyo 3-4 times a year (1 stop, usually 16 hours over, 14 back) and I find I can beat jet lag if I can sleep 6-8 hours on the flight. But in cattle, er, coach class, sleeping is tough for someone 6'3", 230 lbs. However, since I started using the SkyMall Travel Pillow, I've found it is easy to grab 3-4 hours straight, particularly if I can score a window seat. Using the pillow on the tray table, the angle of my body is such that my back muscles stay stretched out and I don't experience the soreness I used to feel when I was bunching a pillow and blanket up against the window and trying to sleep that way. If you aren't going to spring for business or first class and sleep stretched out like a normal person, this Pillow is the next best option I've found for comfort and affordability.
I looked forward to using this. I could not summon up enough air to inflate it. It is heavy to handle and pack. It is unwieldy in trying to inflate in a crowded overbooked plane. The instructions say to use the overhead air vent to help inflate. That does not have enough pressure. And your seat mates just might resent your falling all over them in the attempt. If I attempt again to use it, I will try to buy a small handheld pump to assist.
I recently bought three of the travel pillows for a long trip to Indonesia. I found the pillows to be very wide and if the person in front of you put their seat down they didn't work at all! There was no place to put your hand because the pillow took up all the room on the tray. There were 19 of us travelling and I let other people borrow them to try and all were not pleased.
I travel quite a bit to Asia from Oklahoma and sleeping on the way there and back is a must. I have tried the behind the neck pillows however I always felt like I was falling forward. I purchased this pillow; since I was able to inflate to the desired firmness as well as place my hands in the hand pocket I slept for 6~8 hours consistently with NO crick in my neck.
Hard to get comfortable. We even tried it upside down.
I purchased this thinking it would be helpful on my flight over seas - 32 hours from my home to destination. It did not work good at all - was not comfortable. It was a waste of my money. In fact I left it under the seat on the air plane. Maybe someone else got it and enjoyed it.
Would not recommend this product.
Thanks for asking,
While the Skyrest is an alternative to a sore neck, I didn't find it to be as comfortable as the ad claims. The flocking on top of the internal nylon bladder is too thin, so it feels more like sleeping on an exercise ball than a pillow. It also encourages sweating for the same reason. I have returned to my inflatable neck pillow for most coach trips.
We tried the pillow with high hopes on a trip to Europe. We tried it all kinds of ways and positions, but simply could not get comfortable. For us, it was a waste of money.
I travel frequently on long flights and this product was just great! I can actually get 5-6 hours of sleep. I was also able to use it as a footrest while waiting in the airport lounge.
This is a great product and I would definitely recommend it.
"I travel quite a bit to England from New Orleans and it's a long journey. I have tried the behind the neck pillows however they are too light, deflate easily, get too hot and simply do not work. So I purchased this pillow, because it was different and slept like a babe. I highly recommend the Skyrest, maybe it has a few niggles but it is by far better than the other silly pillows being sold and it works!
Recently I had the opportunity to travel overseas with a friend and I purchased this pillow for myself and my friend. We both arrived at our destination well rested for the first time after a very long flight.
I had to work out the best way to position the pillow on the tray table so that it would be comfortable but once I worked out the details, it was great - definitely recommend it!
I do a lot of travel for business and with costs the way they are today, I am forced to travel coach. This product allows me to at least get some sleep on long flights. Most everything else I have tried doesn't work well at all. Although it may take a little getting used to, once you've found a comfortable position, this product works really well. Of course whenever you really want to sleep it's always best to get a window seat!
As a working musician I do a lot of traveling to gigs and sessions, usually on one coast or the other and usually it's a redeye. I've got a bunch of other pillows, mostly the neck support type, but they don't really do the trick. This one is the only one I've been able to make work for me. It's not perfect but it's the best one I've found.
We were on a double hopper across the country and got stuck in Denver; missed a connection. We had a couple of these pillows with us and, besides helping us sleep on the plane, allowed us to rest comfortably while waiting three hours for the next flight. Our family of four was able to take turns using the pillows to get some sleep at the airport.
It is very simple to inflate and deflate. It also is very comfortable, since I am 6' 5", airplane seats do not fit my back, neck, and head. This is something I have been wishing for for years. I cannot wait until October when I fly to Scotland to test it out!
This pillow is great once you get it inflated.
I need to find a small electric pump to take with me on trips, otherwise I would never actually be able to travel with it!
I have used this on several overseas trips. It is awkward to inflate, and other passengers may look at you a bit strangely. BUT... take it anyway if you want to get the best sleep you can get on an airplane. They don't show it in the picture, but there are straps in the back where you can rest your hands... kind of like you hug your pillow at home. Highly recommended.
I have not used it on a flight yet but tried it at home. I am a stomach sleeper and know this pillow will work great for me-I can't sleep with my head back against the seat. I plan to use it in the car too.
I just bought the travel pillow and it was great. I used it on the trip and everyone around me wanted it.
It is worth it and was a great buy.
I am only 5' 1" and I didn't fully inflate it and it was very comfortable.
I loved it and reccomend it to anyone.
It's great if you are on a long trip or travel often.
Great for long flights or when overly tired on short one. Window seat works best. Slept over four hours on trip to New Zealand .
Long flight to Chile, S.A. was easy with the help of the travel pillow to get some shut eye. Watch not to inflate it too much as it is best and most comfortable a little under inflated. Thanks, Bob
I bought two as gifts. Our family travels a lot overseas and we've always wanted to try them. Will be putting one on my wish list too!
A must for the long flight. I have trouble sleeping on a plane. I used to be a flight attendant and was taught to never be drowsy on a plane so it is hard to fall asleep. I am a side sleeper and can not sleep siting up. This is the PERFECT answere. I wish I would of thought of it. 10 out of 10
My wife and I purchased these pillows for a trip to Indonesia during the holidays because I NEVER sleep on airplanes and was desperate to try anything. This really worked! It took us 31 hours of travel time to get there and then back and I slept very well. I had a sore back and the lean-forward position was perfect.
I used the pillow on my Canada trip. Very comfortable, my son loved it too. A bit bulky even when deflated but still worthy.
kind of large even deflated, but well worth the great rest you get using this pillow. your body can relax against this pillow for some very good rest when traveling. For myself and wife we definitely like this product for us. hope you also find this heplful and consider this pillow!!
gerry and armena
I travel a lot, and this pillow will help me to sleep better.
This pillow really feels like a home pillow and as if you are sleeping on your stomach. When you put your arms around it, it can rock you to sleep. Must not inflate it to it's fullest. Leave a little air out so it can be soft. It is a bit bulky when inflated, but it deflates and packs well. I highly recommend it.
Great item. I bought it to see if it would work. I fly cross country and got some odd looks when I blew it up, but three hours into my nap my seat mate wanted to know where to get one. wish i would of bought a couple to sell on the plane on long trips. worth the money.
For international travel, it can't be beat. Well, unless you can afford First Class maybe. A bit bulky to carry folded up, but well worth the trouble when you get off a long flight refreshed and ready to go. When you're not sleeping on it, you can rest your book on it, then take another nap. I prefer it on the meal tray, it's easier on my back.
I have a terrible time trying to sleep on airlines. This is perfect for me. I can just lean forward and rest comfortably. I love that you can use the overhead air to air it up.
I would recommend the Skyrest Travel Pillow to anyone that is going on a long plane ride. Definitely a good purchase!
Don't take a long flight without it!
Well worth the money. Impossible to sleep without it!
My husband and I have been traveling to Africa over the past 5 years and while on our last very long flight noticed another passenger also in coach using this pillow. While I strugged with my head bobbing all over she was very peacefully sleeping and probably did so for at least 4-5 hours. I decided at once to order them and now look forward to using them when we return to Africa in April.
I tend to take at least one overseas flight every year -- and have NEVER been able to sleep on a plane. I have tried neck pillows, noise cancelling headphones, an eye pillow, and sleeping pills, but nothing has worked. Until I found this pillow!
I read the instructions (important!) which made the inflation and deflation a breeze. After a little adjusting on the firmness I got it pretty close to my pillow at home. I placed a pillowcase from home over the airline's pillow and then laid that on top of the travel pillow. Donned my earphones and my eye mask and eased off to sleep. I would awaken about every hour to switch my head to the other side, but I would easily return to sleep. My sister had bought one too, and found the same results. I placed mine on my legs since I am tall. She placed hers on the seat tray.
I was easily able to fold it back in to shape and stored the pillow, my pillowcase and my eye covers inside the bag. I'm ready for my next trip!
This product brings a sense of relaxation to an airplane's "squeezed" in situation. I am actually able to lean forward and fall asleep while not getting caught up in the usual uncomfortable positions. It gives me another option of resting that I didn't have before. My wife and I both have one.
When my husband opened the package, he was all excited to see how the pillow works. He loved! The system to fill the pillow with air (and to empty it) is fantastic and he said "it's the best feature one can imagine." He inflated the pillow and "hugged" it and discover another wonderful feature. There is a place to rest the hands while you sleep! We went to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and he took the pillow. He was soooo happy because finally he could sleep well and his back was fine, without any pain. Thank you guys! You made his travels much more comfortable!
Uncomforable for my body type (big tummy), but friend liked it.
For someone like me who almost fits in a economy class seat, this travel pillow is a Godsend. I can now get some decent sleep while making long trips of 19 hours and more. I am definitely making all my trips with it from now on !!!!
sleep onboard much improved with pillow, but it doesn't expand as high as catalog picture appears.
Easy to inflate/deflate, this cushion is terrific and great value for money. I took it on the last long haul to Australia from Europe, and usded it both as suggest, as a side pillow when not fully inflated and even used it as a footstool! More comfort than even a regular pillow and so versatile. I loved it!
My husband has been wanting one of these forever. I finally got it for him and everyone else in my family wants it now!
He hasn't flown with it yet, but all agree it's a brilliant concept, so I got big points for my gift.
I have become a recent fan of SkyRest - particularly for those long flights that I take for my job. Recently, I traveled from Portland, Oregon (my organization's home base) to Thailand and India. That is a long trip. Inasmuch as I cannot normally sleep on a plane, I was dreading the long voyage. But, I used my new SkyRest as instructed and it made a HUGE difference. Personally, I gained the most benefit from being able to rest my feet and legs in a relaxed and elevated position. But, it works equally well as a support for the upper body. Part of the value is the product's flexibility. Because of SkyRest, flying has once again become something that I actually look forward to again, not mere drudgery, which it had become.
Purchased this for a long flight. It was a waste. It was uncomfortable and bulky. It does not deflate small or flat . Buyer beware.
For me the pillow was a little too large, or I am a little too big. Worked better if partially deflated. I did not read the directions before travel, or even open the package., ?They say try before you use and that would have helped although not impossible.
I sleep on my side so this pillow has been very useful for me. It is also helpful that being an air pillow, it is easy to adjust the level of firmness. I have also been very impressed by the customer service. I lost the air cap and I called skyrest. They sent a complimentary replacement within two days!
Product was exactly as promised. Can't wait to use it!!!
I received the travel pillow I ordered for my husband and was disappointed that it didn't look like the nice soft velour with a slanted front that was advertised in the picture. The one I got was more of a plastic-like velour material with a band of plastic across the front about a third of the way down. Since he will be leaving for Hong Kong in a few days that's what he'll have to use. He said he was thinking of inventing something like that until he saw it in the Sky Mall on his last trip. Hope he's happy with it.
At first I was worried, when the directions said to use, you had to blow it up. After trying it before I went on plane, I found that the blow up step was easy, and didn't result in getting light headed.
The raised concept is great and so much better than leaning so far over on the plane table to sleep.
Good price and so worth it!
I purchased on and used it once and felt like I got my money worth. I also bought two for friends.
Scouring the web did not produce any other pillow of this kind. It is a good size and seems sturdy and well made.
I LOVE THIS PILLOW!!!! I just got it, opened the package, unscrewed the larger cap, and started blowing it up. I know that you are supposed to blow through the smaller cap opening, but I figured if I could at least get it going the rest would be easy. Once it was almost full I pinched the pillow at the valve opening and screwed the larger cap back on. Then i opened the smaller valve and with two puffs of air I filled the pillow to firmness. OMG..... less than a minute to fill (if you are a smoker this may not be for you). So I'm sitting at the table using the pillow!!! I know Im going to love this thing!!! WAY TOO HAPPY!
I had no problem sleeping in plane with skyrest pillow I have to travel in Business class only for rest and sleep now I can travel in economy
This is a little strange and large, but the best sleep I have had on an international flight
If the person in front of you doesn't lean back, then the pillow can work. However, that doesn't happen often. I ended up using the pillow to rest my arms on as I leaned back to try to sleep.
I saw this pillow in the magazine during one of my trips and order it.
It is terrible, it is tough to inflate (Im young, dont smoke and exercise heavily so no excuse), the material feels cheap! and it is very uncomfortable, i did try to acomodate in different positions, IT DOESNT WORK! the picture of the magazine is very deceiving!
The worst part is that i got it and went on a trip more than a month after i got it and now i am stuck with it since the policy is 2 months for return.
I hate this pillow!
Dont buy it you will waste your money!
This is a MUST for those who would like to sleep comfortably in Economy Class!! The perfect investment! Inflates & deflates quickly, extremely comfortable and compact. You won't be disappointed - I promise!!
I've traveled for business for over 25 years. I usually do not sleep on planes and have tried everything. I just did a 12 hour trip from London to Sacramento and used the pillow. I was able to get a couple of hours of sleep using the pillow. I think the greatest thing about the pillow is that it gives you another alternative for sleeping when you are in an aisle or middle seat. I give it a thumbs up.
Haven't used it on a plane yet, but almost fell asleep on it while watching T.V.!
I have used my Skyrest for several years and the comfort I derive from its unique design is amazing. The design allows your back to stretch and your neck to be supported while asleep. Wrapping your arms around the pillow also stretches your shoulders. I arrive so much more rested than I had experienced with other pillows. In flight I often am asked where I purchased this item and notice people sighing as they scrunch in their seats with no support for the upper body. You won't be disappointed.
The best thing for travel EVER!!! Makes long trips so much easier and you can actually get some rest!
I recently purchased my second SkyRest Travel Pillow and wanted to mention what a help it has been for me during my travels. I'm often very uncomfortable on flights and can't seem to relax but this product helps me do both. Even if I don't fall asleep it allows me to be more relaxed and less cramped at the end of the trip.
I have not used it on a flight yet but it seems useful.
It inflates in less than two minutes, and deflates immediately. Seems comfortable, but I think I will use a airline pillow on top to make it more comfortable.
It seems well made.
I've never been able to sleep on overseas air trips, but this Sky Pillow is a dream come true. I've always wanted to lean forward to ease my back. I tried piling my purse and a couple of travel pillows, but couldn't get them high enough for comfort. Also, my hands fell asleep because I had Either to add them to the pile or let them flop.
Now thanks to Sky Pillow I can sleep in real comfort.
I've bought nearly every neck pillow out there. None ever worked well. I always ended up with a stiff neck. The SkyRest pillow packs smaller than a bead pillow, bigger than neck inflatables, but worth every ounce. I love it.
I bought one for myself, I used it a lot for sleeping. Now i found it can be also put under feet to comfort legs. I bought another 3 for my wife and her parents. Everyone likes it. It could be better designed, such as ring shape in the middle for better breathe like massage pillow. Overall, a very cool product.
Bought this for my wife for a long trip. It is easy to inflate with over seat air or by mouth. More comfortable than leaning back in seat. My wife was able to rest well. It is compact, easy to inflate/deflate, and easy to pack in carry on suitcase or purse. I would recommend to anyone who is traveling long distances.
It is hard to explain, but it is totally different from what the ad says. It is hard to get comfortable no matter how you sit. But to even have a chance the person in front of you HAS to have there seat in the upright position.
I took a trip out of the country a year ago and bought this out of sheer curiosity. When it arrived, I was using it while resting at home on my sofa, it was so comfortable! You have to be somewhat comfortable in your own skin to use it on the airplane, as it is definitely odd-looking: you will get some strange stares and it's best to have a good sense of humor about it. But it made those long flights bearable, and I slept very nicely. I'm leaving this week for the same trip as a year ago, and am very glad I have my Skyrest pillow.
On another review somewhere (the one that convinced me to buy it originally) I saw something like "As long as you can ignore the laughing and staring of the other passengers, you will sleep like a baby." It's true! They ended up jealous...after seeing the quality sleep I was getting.
The Skyrest pillow works really well. On a recent flight to Aruba my entire family wanted to use it. It became a bit of a "wanted item". Fortunately, I was the one being able to use it the most so I arrived rested and ready to start my vacation.
Although it's a little larger than I anticipated, this is a great product! The deflated size/weight is similar to a large paperback. Once it's inflated, it's very comfortable. You don't have to worry about leaning on the person next to you, and your back is more relaxed when you wake up.
I recently purchased the SkyRest Travel Pillow and am so pleased. Finally I can rest on a plane. On an overnight flight to England, the pillow was easy to inflate, comfortable to use and easy to deflate. I used the tray table for my base, and it was the perfect height for me. The hand rest pocket was a nice feature also. I would recommend this product to anyone that will be on a long flight, train ride or road trip.
Think "Out-of-the Box!" The SkyRest Travel Pillow serves its purpose far and beyond its designated air travel use. My 3 year old grandson falls asleep in his car seat and his head and neck slump forward in what seems to be an uncomfortable and maybe even a dangerous position. The new laws stipulate that we can no longer adjust the child car seat at an inclined position for sleeping. The SkyRest Travel Pillow makes child car seat travel safer and my grandson rests very comfortably. I am a Hysterically Happy Grandma.
A bit smaller (& darker color) than it appears in the photo which I actually appreciated. Fairly easy to blow up-about 10-12 breaths; very easy to deflate. Outside is fairly soft-not soft like a microfiber blanket but more sueded-not hard plastic. Since I find sitting back in an airplane seat and sleeping quite uncomfortable, this pillow is helpful in alleviating the problem.
This pillow was very heavy and was too big to be used comfortably in my seat. Save your packing space and just use the airline pillow!! I wish my trip (64 days) would have been shorter so I could have returned in time to get credit.
I have traveled long distance on flights before. I cannot sleep sitting up, and always struggled, wanting to comfortably lay forward and put my head down. This pillow allowed me to do this. I did not have to lay my head on my arms, uncomfortably on the tray. The pillow keeps you comfortable and able to rest your head in a normal sleep position. It easily fills up with air, and all you have to do is add a few more breaths and you are set to go. The color is a nicer navy blue than the picture, and blends with airline decor more than the picture. Also, folds up nicely.
I love my sky pillow! It allows me to sleep so good on the plane (of course when I am not working!). The main benefit to me is that it helps me not to get a kink in my neck like I do from other neck pillows. It makes a big difference for me when I am commuting to work.
I have been looking for something like this for years. At last I will be able to sleep comfortable while underway.
I was disappointed when the item received looked nothing like what is shown in the catalog or even in the picture included in the package. The item shown has a much plusher finish than the product received and the item received is also more narrow than what is depicted. I do not have time to reorder prior to my flight so I will use it and, hopefully, won't be as disappointed as I'm feeling now.
I'm a international student. This pillow is really good to long trip. when I fly to china, it release me and i can have a relaxing sleep. It's especially perfect if you love sleep with desk.
I am someone who never normally travels economy, but traveling from Bali to Sydney, you have no option as it's all budget carriers with no flat bed seats. Worried about this, I bought the SkyRest pillow in the hope of at least making the trip some what comfortable. WOW.....it was amazing. Apart from the crying babies, it was the most comfortable flight I have ever had in economy. I slept the entire flight and got off the plane feeling rested. Arrived in Sydney at 6.30am, worked all day and didn't go to bed until 11.30 that night. Not bad after flying overnight in economy. The Skyrest pillow is a MUST HAVE for for getting a good sleep on an overnight flight.
I hate flying. I try to sleep and simply can't get comfortable enough to actually fall asleep. I just received my SkyRest Travel Pillow and it's WONDERFUL!! I tried it out and slept like a log. Fastest trip I ever took. I'm buying another one for my husband. Thank you SkyMall, this one's a keeper!
Love it, will get another one.
Skymall is the best :)
SkyRest Pillow makes sure you travel in the best comfort possible. I would recommend this as its easy to blow up and packs small. Very Happy!
I have a real hard time sleeping in planes and this is near to impossible when flying coach. The lack of good and comfortable inclination just keeps my eyes open.
Leaning foward in the seat gave me some back pains, that is why this pillow is not perfect, but it sure was better than trying to sleep while seating almost straight in the coach seat.
It was not 100% comfortable, but in the end I was able to really sleep for a good amount of time.
After using a beach ball to rest forward for long trips this pillow is much more comfortable and people don't look at you like you are crazy.
It wasn't what I was hoping for. It is much smaller that what is in the picture and the tray on the plane was not high enough for it to be comfortable. Perhaps if I were shorter it would have worked better.
Great especially if you are tall- comfortable
easy to set up and pack away
Purchased as a gift for my husband. He saw it in the Sky Mall Catalog when we flew back from Hawaii and wished he had it then. He has only used it on a bus trip and it did not work well because he did not have a lap tray to rest it on. He is looking forward to using it on our next flight.
Compact and useful definitely bringing it on my future travels
I travel the world consistantly and those long flights can be gruelling if you have those narrow econmy seats. There is never a comfortable nor tasteful way to rest. Consequently, I do not sleep on those long flights.... until now. What a great idea. Now I just need something to get rid of the snoring!
Love my new pillow. It's easy to blow up and adjust to the right firmness. Highly recommend it for long flights!
I seen this pillow on a flight a year ago and now I own my own...Love it. The only thing I wish was different was the smell... it still has a strong "plastic" ordor. Other then the smell it is great!!! for International flights in "Coach Class"
I think the SkyRest Travel Pillow is great, it will go with me on every trip. It takes the pressure off of my tail bone and is the only way I can get relief from pain, I have tried to stack pillows in the past but they fall apart and are not high enough. Thank you for the SkyRest Travel Pillow.
Just purchased the pillow but won't have a chance to use it until June. Have tried it out at home and seems to be great - good construction.
My only complaint would the be cost of the shipping to Canada ($30) and then had to pay an additional $10 COD on arrival. Shipping cost was more than the product purchase.
the pillow has a leak.
impossible to use.
The product I received looked nothing like the picture in the Skymall Magazine. It was made of a different material and shaped differently. The pillow I received was much higher in the front and not as wide as the product shown in the magazine. I tried to use it on a trip back to Australia and it was not very comfortable. I feel that I wasted the $42 that it cost (shipping and taxes included). Very disappointed.
This travel pillow was a gift for my husband, but I know that I will be buying myself one, as well. We haven't used it on a plane yet, but so far I love it. It blows up easily and seems extremely comfortable. Can't wait to try it in a few weeks.
This pillow does not work for anyone of any size or age. It was way too big for my teenage sons and Ok size for me and my wife. But unless your flying business or first class you cannot use this pillow due to the lack of space, which by the way on business or first class you do not need it because you can lie down. I bought four for a nine hour flight, huge disappointment. I will do everything in my power to get my money back.
This is a very good product that makes long overseas flights in coach bearable. I read all the reviews before I purchased two of these pillows. I found most of the criticism rather trite. These items do what they are designed to do.
The pillow leaks when you place your head on it so that even if you are lucky enough to fall asleep, you'll be awoken by finding yourself in an uncomfortable position with a half deflated pillow. And it is not as large as it appears in the photo. I'm 5'7" and found I had to hunch my neck very uncomfortably to place my head on the pillow. The suggestion of placing it on the food tray is ridiculous because the food trays are not designed for this purpose and immediately slide and shift when you try to use them in this fashion. All in all, a good idea, poorly made.
Not actually that comfortable, especially when the seat in front put their seat back. It's not high enough to where my forehead doesn't touch the seat in front of me, so I have to put aother pillow there.
i am so angry at myself for not purchasing this earlier. i travel frequently and every time i doze off my neck kills me for the rest of that day. every time i fly i always breeze through the skymall magazine and always tell myself that i am going to purchase the skyrest pillow, but unfortunitely i always put it off and forget. Finally, i took the leap and bought it! it works sooo much better than i expected. the picture in the advertisement does this pillow no justice. if i owned this company i would re-take the photo. Even know it is probably the owner, but that doesn't always mean they should be the model. (lol). I 100% wish i bought this sooner, it works great, its easy to blow up, and folds into a very small space.
I used to absolutely dread long haul flights as I could never sleep and it was torturous being so uncomfortable. Then I saw the Skymall pillow about 10 years ago and gave it a try. I love it! I can actually get a few good solid hours of sleep with it. I even make it a bit higher by adding the airline pillow on top. It actually stretches my back instead of crumpling it as well.
I would recommend it to any people who normally sleep on their tummies or sides. If you can only sleep on your back then this is not for you.
After 10 years of good service it developed a slow leak and so I bought this new one.
Unlikely to use it again. It doesn't do well on your lap as the bottom side is pure plastic and makes your legs sweat. The angle just didn't work. Will stick with a neck pillow.
we can finally sleep on a plane or a bus . thank you so much.
the pillow is good for long flights
I have flown over 1.5 million miles and have a friend who has flown over 2 million. While we have never seen anyone on any flight take one of these out and sleep on it, we have been anxiously awaiting the day it would happen. I bought one of these for my friend as a gag gift as a reminder of how unbelievably amazing it will be to see this thing in action on a flight. He keeps it on his office bookshelf because it is the most hilarious picture we've ever seen.
Thank you SkyRest, thank you.
My son is a member of a DCI troupe. He and his fellow mates say this is the best thing ever for the long hours they spend on the bus while on tour.
I bought three SkyRest for a 24 hour flight to Asia. The best part is that leaning forward to hug the SkyRest relieves the pressure point in the low low back area so you can actually feel good and rest.
One of the three did have a leak, but was quickly replaced by DAC. Excellent customer service.
I am one of those who cannot stay sitting in the same position for a long flight. this is one of the way to sit of which i can change the pressure point on the sitting bones and allow for the back bones to stay straight. I am happy with the purchase and use it since.
The problem becomes, if someone sat in front of you put the chair way back that you do not have much space to use it. or when you sit in the aisle, it pretty much blocks the other person to move from you.
you may like to use some other material before you put your cheek on it.
the last one i wish i can have some instructions on how to blow such a big thing in a flash.
Was not sure if i would like it, but took the recommendation of a friend and got it. Well made. Creatively constructed. Easy to inflate and to deflate. Should help me sleep in the "cheap seats" when flying east.
I haven't used this on a plane yet, will be leaving next week. I have been testing it out in my Living Room and it does seem to be just what Ive been after. It inflates and deflates easily and will be easy enough to put in carry on luggage.
As I am in Australia I was more than happy with the quickness in receiving this from Sky Mall.
I used this travel pillow on a night flight from Chicago to London. I used it under my legs in the "Economy Plus" seating to give some lift/support. I also used it as shown in the picture. In both positions I got a full 1 1/2 hours of sleep before waking up. In total I used this product for 4 1/2 hours sleep on a 7 1/2 hour flight. It was easy to fill; I followed the directions and only needed 7 "blows" to get it filled.
Works better than any other solution I have tried. Definitely worth carrying it along on trips
Comfortable. But a bit pricy. I think $19.95 would be more inline. It would be helpful to have a small cloth case to carry it in.
Sounds great; but NOT... never got comfortable in any position or inflation. left it in Paris rather than the hassle to drag home......
TERRIBLE!!! Bought two for international trip with such high expectations.
Such a waste of monies!!!
Very strong plasticky odor; neighboring passengers asked me to put it away. I did, as it was annoying to me too. Not as comfortable as I had hoped. Good idea, but doesn't meet my expectations.
except it just did not work for me in execution. Someone told me I could use the air vents to blow it up [I haqve asthma and not a lot of lung power] but the Airbus I was on did not have those little overhead air vents, it was all built in to the sides of the plane. It also did not seem as big as the picture.
This item was a mistake in ordering but looking at it, its huge. I cant imagine anyone wanting to use it.
I fly over 100,000mi a year, much of it in coach class (when I don't get the upgrade), I have tried every variety of "neck pillow", so i consider myself a fairly informed consumer. This pillow looks like a good idea but it does not work very well. I tried it on a 14hr long haul flight. First, it is huge when inflated, I felt conspicuous with it, people were staring! Then when I didn't get to sleep I felt like an idiot. I also didn't like the texture of the fabric on my face. I tried letting some of the air out and using the pillow the airline provided, but that was too complicated. One good thing is that it does provide a new position, relieving the weight on your butt, a problem on those long flights. I ended up letting most of the air out of it and using it as a pillow against the bulkhead and finally got some sleep.
I used this pillow on my way to Italy. Both myself and my significant other had issues sleeping on this pillow. The bottom of this pillow is not secure and rolls around like a beach ball. I tried adding air and letting air out to see if it made a difference and it did not.
I use pillow under my feet, it worked well
I tried to use this on a lengthy international flight. When deflated it is a bit bulky, but not bad. Inflation took less than a minute by opening the biggest valve. Underinflating it slightly allows for some softer cushioning for the face. For me personally, I couldn't get comfortable leaning forward with the head twisted to the side so it didn't really work. I ended up letting out more air and using it as a side pillow and foot rest for a while. For individuals who fall asleep easily on flights, it might be good, but unfortunately it didn't help me out.
We bought this to take on an overnight to Europe. It was too large for the small space. My husband ended up not using it and I only used it for a little while. Too large - we even blew it up part way to try and fix the problem.
Looks like the perfect item for resting on the plane -- can't wait to use it.
I found the SkyRest easy to inflate and I have breathing issues. it was easily inflated & deflated.
My husband bought this for me as a Christmas gift, since we travel a fair bit. I was desperate for this to work on my overnight flight from Seattle to JFK, but instead I got to wrestle with this bulky, useless device, instead of sleeping. The angle does not work to lay your head comfortably. Plus, the pillow kept slipping forward, so I had to hug it to me. The picture on the package is not real nor does it reflect how it functions.
This pillow is great--will be fabulous on future trips. Not hard at all to blow up--I have very little lung capacity and was able to blow it up easily.
I will use soon, but it's look interesting for long travel
I bought this pillow for a long flight to Vegas. I'm a stomach sleeper so it's hard for me to sleep sitting up. With this pillow I was able to sleep most of the flight. When I wasn't sleeping I used it to prop my Ipad up!! Easy to blow up too!!! Great buy!
My husband and I have gotten in the habit of flying business class, since I frequently accompany him on overseas business trips. Last summer we were flying to Barcelona from Newark on our own dime to get on a 10 day cruise, so we bit the bullet and bought seats in coach hoping to get an upgrade...didn't happen. I was concerned about being able to sleep on the overnight flight, so I bought this pillow. Uninflated it fit easily into my carry-on. It was easily inflated and being a stomach/side sleeper, I found it very comfortable to lean forward onto. With this and an Ambien, I had a great night's sleep in coach and it way cheaper than a business class seat!
I have looked at Skyrest over many years and finally bought two thinking it was the answer to my prays with flying & sleeping. Sorry, I found the experience very distressful. I had an international flight, the seat in front of me came back and it was impossible to fit and use Skyrest and sadly kept turning the TV monitor on.... After a few hours trying different ways I deflated the Skyrest.
This product is easy to inflate and deflate and provided me with the most comfortable flight I have ever had!
I am in a wheelchair and bought this so I'd have some way to rest my head when tired without transferring to bed, within a month it started losing air and now 2 months after purchase I have to blow it up at least twice a day. I'm very disappointed but it did work for me in the beginning and I had no trouble blowing it up. Value is certainly not there.
I specifically bought this pillow for a 7+ hour overnight flight! I am only 5'2 so this pillow was entirely too tall for me, despite the other reviews that said it was great for everyone . Not! Also, the person in front of me had their chair pushed back so the pillow was crushing me between that seat and mine. Extremely disappointed and exhausted upon arrival because I was unable to get even a wink of sleep with this pillow!
this item would work perfectly as stated if you are on an aircraft that has the room leg room. The passenger in the seat in front of me reclined the seat and the pillow crushed my face. you can addressed the fullness of the pillow with letting out a little bit of air. Otherwise it's a great concept for people that are traveling on long flights. Just make sure you upgrade for leg room. smaller aircraft does not allow for inflating this item and using as stated. thank you
Was very pleased at the product and how easy it inflates. Blew it up laid on it and almost went to sleep. Very fast shipping. Bought one for me and got the wife her own, no fighting over it.
My daughter and I used one on an overseas flight and did not like it. Leaning forward while sitting in an airline seat is not comfortable. Picture looks like it should be, but it was not.
I used my skyrest pillow on my transatlantic flight. I was afraid it would be bulky and my neighbors in economy class would feel crowded out by it, but that wasn't the case at all. I was comfortable, and I didn't impinge on their space. It was easy to inflate/deflate. I'm glad I bought it.
The rest allows me to get much needed rest on the longer flights.
It was so nice to have the option to put my head down during my overnight flight. I was able to have a degree to relaxation that I hadn't had before on overseas flights. Never really feel asleep, but was able to rest a bit. It's not a cure-all, but it's an improvement over trying to sleep upright and/or use a neck pillow.
I have only tried the pillow at home, but it seems to work well and the quality is good but not great. I am a little concerned about the bare plastic panel on the bottom. I think it will work well for despite the outrageous high price.
so i have seen this item in the skymall magazine for YEARS! i never sleep well on a plane even with neck pillows. but this...whoa...i am so glad i purchased it. it is as close to laying down as you could possibly get sitting in an airport seat. the funny thing is, when i mentioned to other friends that i bought one they ALL knew exactly what it was as they have all seen it in the skymall magazine and wondered if they should get it.
I bought one for my wife and one for myself for a trip to Europe. I read the reviews and I should have believed the customers that gave a poor rating. They were very uncomfortable and bulky. Trust this review do not buy. If I thought I could return them I would.
I am happy that I purchased this product as it did make for a comfy flight in terms of sleeping.
I bought this for an overnight flight from Hawaii back to the mainland. It really wasn't very comfortable. I tried to sleep, but didn't help me as much as I had hoped.
We will be using on 9/4 for Japan trip
From JFK to Madrid was my first use of the SkyRest. Indispensable helper in sleeping. I could inflate it to any height/size, depending on my sleeping need of the moment, and voila! It brought no backache stress &/or pain after hours of resting and usage in different positions! Better than I thought, also because time passed faster.
It is the only pillow that has worked for me. Would be even better if a couple inches taller.
Traveled from Atlanta to Frankfurt Germany. I'm a side/stomach sleeper, so trying to sleep upright in an airplane seat is not fun. This pillow let me get about 3 hours of sleep. I love it and highly recommend it.
I'm a frequent coach traveler and often have to take long red eyes home. I'm a belly sleeper, so trying to get a good rest on a flight is really hard for me, even with the best of neck pillows. I've been seeing this in Skymall magazine for several years now and finally decided to try it out based on pretty good reviews. It definitely works well. It's easy to inflate and deflate, and allowed me to comfortably rest my head for a decent rest. I coupled it with my usual next pillow, eye shades and ear plugs, and while I won't say I slept like a baby, it was definitely better than without it and worth the money. I'll be recommending this to my frequent flier friends and/or anyone traveling overseas in coach.
Have tried it out on a short flight, and it seems to work well.
We were not able to use it and have returned it for credit.
Though the concept seemed to be a good one ,when we bought and used it on our overseas voyaged it failed to deliver what it promised. My neck and back remained at a prone position which left us with kinks and sore backs. I should have got the inflatable neck brace wrap instead and reclined my chair back to protect my neck and back. Oh well...a costly experience. :(
I bought two of these for our upcoming trip to Europe. The worst part of going to Europe is the overnight flight to get there, I'm NEVER able to get comfortable enough to sleep. These "pillows" did NOT help. My husband and I both tried them for about a half hour and then gave up and did the best we could without them. They are overall too small. Too short so you have to bend forward to far, just very uncomfortable. I would LOVE to be able to return them and would NOT recommend them to anyone.
It inflates and deflates easy. I did not inflate all the way since I am small but really like it. Fits easy in my back pack. I was able to sleep on it.
I bought the Travel Pillow to use on a flight from the US to Greece. It did not inflate as described and it was difficult to use and very bulky and rough. Seemingly one wouldn't think a "pillow" would be difficult but I disliked it so much I left it on the plane.
I've been looking at this pillow in the magazine for many years wondering if it would be helpful for getting to sleep on transatlantic flights. The last flight I took, I didn't sleep at all, so I bought it for a recent trip. I'm so pleased that I did! I actually slept for a few hours and it was quite comfortable. A few tips: Don't blow the pillow up all the way and you can hug the pillow with your arms in a sleeve to keep them from dropping when you sleep (if you blow up the pillow all the way, then it cuts off circulation in your arms when you lean completely down on the pillow). Also, I found it helped to use the small travel pillow that the airline provides on top of the SkyRest pillow for some extra cushioning.
I've flown all over the world and never been able to sleep no matter how long the flight...just went to Europe and had a wonderful nap on my pillow
I have wanted one of these for a long time. Glad I finally purchased one. I am tall so it's a bit short for me but if I use my neck pillow I can actually sleep face forward and the neck pillow on top of the Sky Rest is perfect. Bring it on red eye flights..
purchased this for a long overseas trip. easy to inflate, in just a minute, and having this gave me additional sleep position and added hours of sleep to a long trip. Friend tried it and liked it as well. I plan to bring it on my long flights from now on. Shipment came quickly and product seems to be high quality (first trip use).
I recently purchased the pillow for my trip to Hawaii. I used it for the night flight back to the mainland. I found it uncomfortable, and I won't use it again.
I bought this as a gift and then had to buy one for myself.
Excellent for long flights!
The cattle car economy class flights really gave me no room to put it once I blew it up. The pillow itself worked well but I won't use it again just for the lack of place to put it when you wanted to use the tray table for meals or just a place to rest your hands while reading a book or watching a movie.
We bought this for our 9 hour flight to London. It was comfortable for short periods of time. My husband didn't like that he had to keep his head turned one way or the other. He is used to sleeping on his side. I think for small spurts of time this product is good.
I have not traveled with the pillow yet but have tried it at home. It seems to be as expected and should help me with a neck condition - I cannot rest sitting up - producte
