The Superior Slide And Negative To Digital Picture Converter
This is the only portable device that preserves cherished slides and film negatives at 14 megapixel resolution--the highest available on models of this type--without being tethered to a computer or electrical outlet. The provided trays hold 135 mm slides or negatives (110, 126, and 135) and the touch of a button captures the image in 3-5 seconds as a JPEG. Images can be immediately previewed on the built-in 2-1/2" TFT color display and are stored on an SDHC memory card up to 32 GB (8 GB card sold below stores over 10,000 pictures).
Images can be transferred to a PC or Mac via the included USB cable or viewed on a TV using the included component cable. Its 14 MP CMOS sensor provides 3200 dpi resolution, automatic exposure control, and color balance, resulting in clear digital images without loss of quality. Its rechargeable battery provides up to three hours of operation from a 3-1/2-hour charge via AC or USB (adapters included).
Includes photo-editing software compatible with Windows 8, 7, Vista, or XP and Mac OSX 10.5-10.8.
5-3/4"H x 4-1/4"W x 4-1/4"D; (1 lb.)
I bought this product a few weeks ago. I am a little disappointed in the crispness, etc of the jpg copy. It does an okay job. Given the cost and simplicity, don't expect miracles.
Works well but a little slow. Also loading slides is a slow process. Was disappointed to only learn after receipt of the item that an SD card is required but not includes. So, I was ready to start into my project one night only to be forced to wait until another day after I had purchased a card. Had I known in advance, I would have been ready to go.
I bought this as a gift for my dad. He lived it, he said the screen was larger than the one he was looking at buying. He is very happy with his gift.
I've been telling anyone who will listen that this is one of the few products that actually does what is says it will do. It is terrific. The price was modest, and I did not need the more expensive, more professional models. It has features that I didn't expect, such as on-board editing. I've been copying my father's slides from the 1950s, and the color is just terrific. He is thrilled that I am able to print them out for him and post them online for relatives.
